DAY 17

The one thing about tow in surfing is you always have to take into consideration the technology that you are using, Jet Skis. I sometimes think these jet skis have a mind of their own.

I took Nicole's brother tow surfing at Praia do Norte for the first time and we were having a great morning session, he got a really great barrel and everything.

We decided we were going to go for one more wave and before we could even think the tow rope was sucked up by the jet ski. We had to abandon ship and get a tractor from the city hall to help us with the ski. The good thing is that we were able to get the rope out once on land.

In the afternoon, we went to Lisbon to drop CJ at the airport and do an interview with a national magazine. We then took a tour of an old tower, Torre de Belém, which was really interesting. It is crazy to think how these things were built without cranes. After that we went and had the famous Pastéis de Belém. I didn't have any expectations, and they ended up being so delicious. I ate three of them. Now I am beginning to get mentally prepared for the swell that should be arriving on Thursday!!
